Banke. Alam Khan, central chairman of the Human Rights Protection and Promotion Center (Huripap), has objected to the use of children in the local election campaign.
Khan, chairman of Huripap, an organization monitoring the local level election on May 13, has appealed to stop the use of children by the CPN-UML during the election campaign in Duduwa village municipality of Banke.
UML has appealed not to violate the election code of conduct as it found that children were being used in the election campaign during the monitoring by human rights group Huripap in Duduwa, Banke on Wednesday.
Chairman Khan demanded that such activities should be stopped as there is a possibility of using children under the age of 18 and holding election programs including public meetings in village schools.
Expressing concern over the possibility of spoiling the vote if voter education is not conducted effectively in the villages, Chairman Khan also suggested the Election Office Banke to conduct voter education.

It has been provided as a crime against children and if anyone commits such crime, Article 72 provides for a fine of up to Rs 75,000 and imprisonment for three years.
